How to Archive Revit Project Files
Select Model ► Open … command with the “detach from central” checkbox selected.
Choose the Detach and preserve worksets option.
Select Save as and browse to the Archive folder to save the model using the appropriate nomenclature.
INFORMATION:
Archive copies are to be created at Project milestones and prior to major design option variations.
WARNING:
The Archive must not be created by simply copy/pasting a model into the Archive folder. This simply creates a local copy, and if opened will reconnect with the original central file and as such has the potential to cause corruption or loss of data if synchronised with the central model.
