How to create Segmented Views
You can split Sections and Elevations into segments that are parallel to the view direction.
About Segmented Views
Split a Section or Elevation view to allow viewing of otherwise obscured parts of the Model.
This function allows you to vary a Section or an Elevation path to show disparate parts of the model without having to create a different view. For example, you may find that landscaping obscures the parts of the model that you would like to see in an elevation view. Splitting the elevation allows you to work around these obstacles.
Create a Segmented View
Select the Section or Elevation that you want to Segment.
In the Ribbon, Select Split Segment,
Split Segment CommandHover over your Elevation/Section with the Knife to choose where to split it,
Left Click to Split, don’t be too concerned if you don’t get the exact location as you can move it later,
Adjust the projection plane position and Left Click to Place,
Add additional splits if required and set their Projection Planes,
Press Escape twice to exit the command.

If you select the Section/Elevation you can now use the Grips to adjust the Projection and Segment positions as required.
Merge a Segmented View
To change the segmented line into a continuous line, move segments toward one another so that they form a continuous line and merge.
