Rotating Views
How to Rotate Views
Sometimes to keep documentation consistent (Joinery Layouts) or to fit a view on a Sheet it may be better to rotate the view.
There are 2 methods to rotating a view.
Rotation on Sheet (Not Recommended)
Crop Region Rotation (Recommended)
Rotation on Sheet
You can access this option, by selecting a view placed on a sheet and then from the options bar adjust the Rotation on Sheet parameter to the direction required.
This method has a number of limitations:
Only 90° Clockwise or Counter-clockwise, there are no arbitrary angle options
The View Title also rotates
You end up with Text being upside down or facing the Right side of the page
Crop Region Rotation (recommended)
To use this option, ensure the View is set to Project North and not assigned to a Scope Box.
NOTE:
The Crop Region will not rotate if set to True North.
If the view is assigned to a scope box, you can also rotate the scope box.
Then simply select the Crop Region and use the Rotate command to rotate it. You will note the Crop Region does not rotate. Instead the View rotates within it, so you will like need to adjust the Crop Region extents after the rotation. You will also note you will have to rotate in the reverse direction.
REMINDER:
If there is a North Pointer, ensure you update it to match the revised North Direction.
