Xrev Transmit add-in failed to start

 Problem

In Revit 2025, you receive an error message stating “An error occurred during statup of the Xrev Transmit add-in and the add-in could not be loaded. System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not loan file or assembly ‘Microsoft.AspNetCore, Version=8.0.0.0 …”

 Solution

This error can be caused by several factors.

  1. You are not running Revit 2025.1 or later. Update your Autodesk Revit to the latest version.

  2. Asp.Net Core 8.0.x Runtime has recently been installed and the PC has not yet been restarted. Restart your PC so the setup can finalise.

  3. Asp.Net Core 8.0.x Runtime is not installed. Install this from:
    Download ASP.NET Core 8.0 Runtime (v8.0.16) - Windows x64 Installer

  4. If the issue persists, please try a clean reinstall of Autodesk Revit.

    1. Uninstall Revit 2025.

    2. Deleting the following folders may help:

      1. %ProgramData%\Autodesk\RVT 2025

      2. %AppData%\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2025

      3. %LocalAppData%\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2025

    3. Restart the machine

    4. Install Revit 2025 and apply all Revit updates.
