Database Version Errors

 Problem

You receive an error when attempting to run Xrev Transmit.

Error 1

This error indicates that the version of Xrev Transmit installed on this machine is older than the Database.

Error 2

This error indicates that the version of Xrev Transmit installed on this machine is newer than the Database.

In order for Xrev Transmit to function the version of the database and the installed version of Xrev Transmit must match. Databases use a “schema”. A schema is essentially how the database is organised. For example, the tables and columns/fields within this database. When we add new functionality to Transmit sometimes we have to modify the schema to support that new functionality.

Normally when installing a new version of Transmit, it will check the database version and upgrade it if required. However, if you don’t have the config file mapped to the current database during installation, it won’t be aware of the database and whether it requires upgrading. Not to worry, as upgrading the database is quite simple.

 Solution

For Error 1:

  1. Download and install the latest version of Xrev Transmit and install this on all your Xrev Transmit users workstations.

For Error 2:

  1. Select the Windows button, and Type Run

  2. Enter the following command and select OK

"C:\Program Files\Xrev Transmit\XrevTransmit.exe" InstallDB
